2gether Support Solutions is a Facilities and Estates services company providing support to healthcare professionals caring for over 2000 patients daily across multiple East Kent hospital sites. 2gether provides vital services including maintenance, cleaning, catering, procurement, logistics and much more.
The Role:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Catering Manager based at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital on a full time (Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm) permanent basis.
You will lead on the delivery of high-quality catering services for retail and in-patient food, coordinating an efficient team, and ensuring a clean and safe working environment. Exercising autonomy in strategic decision-making and overseeing the entire catering area and staff. Monthly reviews and opportunities for professional development provided.
Main Duties:
- Manage the budget in line with set expenditure and draw up contingency plans for projected variances.
- Monitor KPI’s within the department to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Responsible for sales / gross profit development and the management of budget and controlling stock ensuring goods are stored correctly and stock is used on a rotational basis.
- Responsible for supervision, allocation, direction and monitoring of catering staff thus ensuring that all staff receive development plans and sufficient training including fire and health and safety training on a regular basis.
- Compile and maintain work schedules and departmental rotas according to business level.
- Ensure strict hygiene standards are maintained in line with Food Hygiene Regulations
- Participate with HR Department in recruitment, training, absent management and personal development of Catering Assistants. Occasionally required to conduct investigatory interviews.
- Responsible for securing and locking department at end of service
- To attend the catering committee meeting and agree to input innovative menus, changing on a regular basis based on customer feedback and needs
The Person:
- Motivated by a passion for quality and great service delivery
- Lead by example and the willingness to perform tasks from food preparation to customer service.
- People management & negotiating skills within a team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to interrogate and analyse information and to draw conclusions.
- Relevant experience of the industry (E)
- Understanding of food safety standards such as HACCP (Hazard analysis and critical control points)
