About the Role
 
As Director of Technical Solutions you will operate as part of our Executive leadership team. You will lead the strategic delivery of all engineering services across an estate consisting of 3 large hospitals and 2 ancillary sites in Kent. Ensuring that buildings are safe, compliant, resilient, well maintained and present as an attractive health care environment for the benefit of patients and staff. In achieving this, the post holder is required to ensure that the company meets all its statutory and regulatory requirements, and lead in the Care Quality Commission assurance process for the outcomes that relate to the department and to provide evidence in relation to the outcome standards.

This role gives the post holder autonomy for defining, executing and monitoring a number of business-critical strategies including – Site Infrastructure master-planning, technical leadership, long term maintenance programme, capital investment design oversight pertaining to HTM/HBN compliance, statutory and mandatory compliance delivery, development of engineering best practice across all of 2gether’s managed estate services, implementation of new business estate service requirements and standards. The post holder will be responsible for the appointment of all AP’s (across all disciplines), in conjunction with successful assessments by discipline AE’s, in the capacity of the designated person. Also, to oversee the delivery of national data compilations such as ERIC and PAM, ensuring data is accurate and timelines are met.


Key Responsibilities


  • Develop programmes for embedding Operational Excellence within the minds of the operational engineering management and site team, and primary supply partners.  
  • Identify and develop operational best practices and drive alignment through procedural alignment, development, training, and quality assurance programs. 
  • Engage a coaching and mentoring approach to the Continuous Improvement of all Health and Safety, Operational Excellence, Critical Environments activities across the portfolio. 
  • Delivering consistent and high performing resources globally through competencies, processes and procedures. 
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to introduce processes and practices that result in cost savings and performance efficiency across the business. 
  • Assist the Director Strategic operations and site General Management leadership team(s) develop programmes and annual budgets for operational spend. 
  • Ensure the service provided by the business into the parent Trust remain compliant with all current Health and Safety and Legal Requirements

 

About You
 
An experienced leader with strong commercial engineering knowledge, you’ll have demonstrable experience of embedding a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence in a Lean critical environment.
 
Key Requirements
 

  • Extensive experience of leading and managing the development and implementation of estates strategy to support an organisation’s corporate strategy.
  • High level of knowledge and experience in commercial Engineering processes and healthcare engineering best practice. 
  • Considerable technical knowledge within own profession plus wide understanding of allied disciplines including commissioning and project management. HTM / HBN technical understanding. 
  • Strong ability to influence and motivate at all levels of a business, with the drive to see through change.
  • A clear Safety-first ethos, with a deep knowledge of Health and Safety management.
  • In depth knowledge of Operational Excellence principles and demonstrable use through continuous improvement.
