2gether Support Solutions is a Facilities and Estates services company providing support to healthcare professionals caring for over 2000 patients daily across multiple East Kent hospital sites. 2gether provides vital services including maintenance, cleaning, catering, procurement, logistics and much more.

We are looking for a proactive and reliable Domestic Shift Lead to support the delivery of high-quality cleaning services within a busy hospital environment. You will play a key role in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Hospital domestic teams are essential to patient care, helping prevent infection and maintain safe clinical environments. As Shift Lead, you will combine hands-on cleaning duties with team coordination, ensuring all areas are maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and coordinate the domestic team during your shift, ensuring all scheduled and reactive tasks are completed 
  • Allocate and monitor workloads to maintain full service coverage 
  • Carry out cleaning duties in line with agreed schedules and standards 
  • Respond to ad-hoc service requests and operational needs 
  • Ensure all equipment is used safely and maintained in a clean, serviceable condition 
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of cleanliness across all areas 
  • Handle and resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally 
  • Report maintenance issues, hazards, and defects to management 
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with staff at all levels 
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, and Trust policies 
  • Support stock control and ordering of cleaning materials 
  • Promote a positive team environment and provide guidance to colleagues 

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Good communication skills (written and verbal English) 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards 
  • Ability to lead by example and work both independently and as part of a team 
  • Flexible approach to working hours and duties 
  • Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks 
  • Customer-focused with a friendly and reliable attitude 
  • Awareness of Health & Safety and risk management 
  • Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare cleaning environment 
  • BICSc Operator Proficiency Certificate (OPC Level 1) or equivalent is desirable.
