Head of Facilities - 15-month Fixed Term Contract

2gether Support Solutions is an NHS-owned Facilities and Estates services company, providing support to healthcare professionals caring for over 2000 patients daily across multiple East Kent hospital sites. 2gether provides vital services including maintenance, cleaning, catering, procurement, logistics and much more.

 

We are seeking an experienced Head of Facilities to lead our soft facilities management services across the William Harvey Hospital, Ashford. This senior, maternity-cover role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in soft facilities management, particularly in cleaning services, and expertise in BICS (British Institute of Cleaning Science) standards.

 

As Head of Facilities, you will lead the delivery of high quality, customer-focused services, including cleaning, catering, portering, residential, quality, and security. You will ensure full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements while providing professional guidance to the organisation.

 

This is a key leadership role in a fast-paced healthcare environment, where you will drive excellence in soft facilities services. Your expertise in cleaning operations and BICS standards will be essential in maintaining a safe, compliant, and efficient environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

 

This a fixed term role, covering maternity leave on a 15-month contract. Working hours are Monday to Friday, with some on-call required. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide visible leadership and inspire a diverse team across multiple sites.
  • Act as the primary contact for soft facilities solutions, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Oversee cleaning services, ensuring compliance with BICS standards and best practices.
  • Manage budgets and contracts, driving cost efficiency while maintaining service quality.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve operational performance.
  • Ensure statutory and health & safety compliance in all service areas.
  • Lead and support cross-site projects, sharing best practices across locations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in soft facilities management, with strong expertise in cleaning operations and BICS standards.
  • Ability to lead and motivate large, diverse teams in a fast paced, customer facing environment.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, health & safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent financial, commercial, and contract management skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience working in a multi-site, 24/7 operational environment.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field is desirable but not essential.
