2gether Support Solutions is a Facilities and Estates services company providing support to healthcare professionals caring for over 2000 patients daily across multiple East Kent hospital sites. 2gether provides vital services including maintenance, cleaning, catering, procurement, logistics and much more.


The Role

The Head of Facilities role takes leadership responsibility for the development and management of soft facilities services within 2gether Support Solutions at Kent and Canterbury Hospital and also managing Royal Victoria Hospital, Folkestone and Buckland Hospital, Dover. The post holder will ensure that the infrastructure at their site supports the provision of high quality, safe care and delivers a positive experience for all that use them. In achieving this, the post holder will be expected to ensure that 2gether meets all its statutory and regulatory requirements in their area of responsibility

To contribute to the development and implementation of 2gether Support Solutions strategy in light of national and local priorities and to ensure the provision of support services to enable the implementation of this strategy. The post holder must also be available for out of hours emergency response when required.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide a high quality, customer focused and efficient delivery of facilities services ensuring that these meet statutory and contractual requirements. Be available to deal with out of hours decisions on reactive requests for site management
  • To direct and manage the Customer Services Managers and Team Leaders on site to ensure that staff are motivated, empowered, receptive to change and dedicated to achieving Trust performance targets.  
  • Responsible for forward planning for the service ensuring plans are in place to support budget setting and workforce planning.
  • Analyse data to understand where improvements can be made and initiate and support quality improvement projects.
  • To ensure that all functions within the service area develop and regularly update policies, procedures and quality services that will deliver services in line with contractual & statutory requirements, relevant professional guidance and good practice. 
  • To ensure that health and safety is maintained in line with policy. 
     


About You

  • Experience and ability to motivate and lead a large scale and diverse team within a large, complex organisation. 
  • Clear understanding of the importance of safety and compliance with statutory requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills enabling effective partnership working
  • Experience in a facilities management leadership role across a large number of buildings with live
  • 24/7 operations
  • Relevant professional membership in an appropriate discipline 
  • Strong customer service ethos with evidence of the ability to deliver great service for all customers.
  • Considerable technical knowledge within own profession plus wide understanding of allied disciplines including commissioning and project management
