A key part of your role will be to conduct a strategic review of our current L&D service delivery, enhancing training consistency, quality, and alignment with business goals. You’ll also oversee company and local inductions, legal and mandatory training, and service excellence, with a strong emphasis on maximizing apprenticeship opportunities. Additionally, you will produce regular reports on training delivery and compliance, working with business areas to address any gaps.

Main duties:

  • Manage and Deliver Training Programs: Oversee the design, delivery, and evaluation of various training programs, including inductions, compliance, and mandatory training, particularly for front-line employees in Facilities.

  • Stakeholder Engagement and Needs Analysis: Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders to identify and address learning needs, using tools like job analysis, gap analysis, and appraisals.

  • L&D Budget and Resource Management: Manage the L&D budget, oversee an L&D Administrator, and ensure the effective use of HR systems for training delivery and tracking.

  • L&D Program Evaluation: Monitor and review the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, data analysis, and reporting to inform senior leadership decisions.

  • Policy Development and Compliance: Propose updates to L&D policies, manage the corporate induction program, and ensure all learning materials are current and compliant.

  • Lead Special Projects: Drive key L&D initiatives and projects, such as apprenticeship strategies, leadership development, and career planning.

The Person:

You are  a proactive and strategic thinker with significant experience in Learning and Development. You should have a strong background in designing and delivering training programs that support both career and personal development. Experience working with external training providers, educational institutions, and across various business functions is essential.

You should have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders. Strong analytical skills are also necessary for evaluating current programs and developing strategies to enhance our L&D maturity. A passion for fostering a culture of continuous learning and development, along with a focus on maximizing apprenticeship opportunities, will be key to your success in this role.
