- Oversee vehicle safety and readiness, ensuring daily vehicle checks are completed, defects are reported and remedial action is taken promptly to maintain safe and roadworthy vehicles.
- Support driver training and competency, ensuring mandatory training is maintained, competency assessments are completed and drivers are trained across a range of planned runs to support service resilience.
- Drive continuous improvement and value for money, working with the Transport Operations Manager to develop best practice, identify efficiencies and ensure services operate within agreed budget parameters.
- Maintain effective operational communication and reporting, providing management information, cascading briefings and updates to staff, and developing positive relationships with Trust teams, GP practices and other key stakeholders.
- Support business continuity and wider service delivery, including providing relief driving cover, covering for other Team Leaders, managing local vehicle consumables and participating in the out-of-hours on-call rota and response to incidents or emergencies.
